Louise Orton, Impact Producer, filmmaker and journalist
Over the next year, I’m really excited to start delivering the international Hope is a Word impact campaign, working with key Nigerian, UK, Dutch and Norwegian partners.
I also want to build on this experience and work on other impact campaigns, particularly where I can bring together my background in human rights and climate change with the skills I developed through the Accelerator.
BAFTA and Together Films have also opened up connections with people and organisations working across impact production, as well as people in the wider film and TV industry who are interested in developing impact campaigns around their programmes and films. I hope to build on those relationships and continue to develop my work across both documentary and scripted content.
There is still a significant challenge around financing impact production in the UK, so I’m also interested in contributing to the conversation about how we build a more sustainable funding model for this work.
Annika Allen Grey, Head of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion | Impact Producer
I want to put my Impact Producer training into practice through both my own creative work and my role within the business.
I am developing Then, Now, Next, an oral-history documentary and audio project preserving the experiences and contributions of Black British television professionals across generations (I got selected by the Royal Television Societies Shiers Trust jury for a grant for this project).
My ambition is to create more than an audio documentary: a living archive that can be used by future generations, educators and the television industry. I want its impact strategy to stimulate intergenerational conversations, support learning and ensure an important part of British television history is not lost.
There is also a significant opportunity within my day-to-day role. Following the combination of All3Media and Banijay Entertainment, the business now spans around 175 production companies across 25 territories. I want to use that increased reach to socialise impact production internally and help creative teams recognise where their stories have the potential to create meaningful social or environmental change.
I see my role as providing the strategic lens: helping productions think early about their intended impact, audiences, communities, partnerships and opportunities across Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, wellbeing and climate, and connecting them with specialist Impact Producers where a full campaign is viable.
My longer-term ambition is to help make impact thinking a more natural part of the creative conversation, from development onwards, and demonstrate that powerful storytelling can deliver value for audiences, communities and the business.
For me, it’s about moving from learning impact production to practising it, advocating for it and creating more opportunities for it.
Amanda Hearn, PR Consultant, specialising in social impact campaigns for TV, film and entertainment
For the next few months, I am working as the Head of PR & Communications for UK and Europe at Movember (maternity cover). At its heart, Movember has always been a grassroots-led, community movement and it is now the leading charity changing the face of Men’s Health. The scale of Movember’s work is vast, and it funds many prevention focused projects focused on men’s mental health, as well as prostate and testicular cancer. If you have a show coming up that speaks to some of these themes and would like to explore how we could work together to drive further impact around the campaign, please do get in touch.
Looking further ahead, I am booking TV PR and impact campaigns for Q3/4 2027 and beyond, and if you have a project in mind, I’d love to talk.
Premila Puri, Founder & Producer, Be Kind Productions
My focus is Island West, a climate-set feature that examines racial exclusion. I’m building its impact campaign now — a panel series connecting the film’s world to real cases of environmental racism with a genuinely sustainable production in Cornwall. I’m also developing ITSY, an animation based on my award-winning short film about hope in multicultural Britain, and The Detectives, a trans media factual entertainment format. What I’m not doing is treating impact as a specialism I bolt on. My aim is that every project I produce lives and breathes action-based impact by design — structural to the film, not a campaign that arrives after it.
Honey Crespo, Documentary Producer & Impact Consultant
Over the year, I am focusing on two key projects:
Impact Distribution: Building the educational and community screenings strategy for Dear Othermother (2025.) A documentary I produced, supported by BFI Doc Society and Liverpool Biennial, that highlights single mothers in Liverpool 8 finding strength in community. Following its film festival success with screenings at SFDocFest, UK venues, and its selection for the Atlanta Women’s Film Festival, my focus will now shift towards taking the film directly into community spaces and educational settings.
Also, Impact Production & Strategic Partnerships: I recently joined the team on an award-winning documentary exploring migration to assist with finishing, distribution, and impact. We are actively developing key local partnerships and seeking final completion and distribution avenues, including pitching to various platforms. Longer term, I plan to leverage these frameworks to build sustainable, regionally rooted impact campaigns for documentaries.
Sophie Hoath, Impact Producer, founder of GuardGoose Media
After the Accelerator, I decided to scale up from working as a solo freelancer to founding an impact production company, GuardGoose Media. That was a big leap – and something I believe the programme pushed me to do (in a good way!). I’m still growing it – both by moving a slate of unscripted originals through to commission, and also building up the advisory side for projects from development through production, and beyond.
I’m excited to be supporting a doc I’d describe as a proper geopolitical thriller, wrapping later this year, alongside another that engages with the data centre boom in London. I’m also fundraising for an impact campaign around a brilliant film about young women gymnasts in Pakistan, and the barriers they face to do their sport. I want the things I create, or support, to be opening up what people think an impactful show or film looks like. I’ve pitched competition formats, dating shows and biopics, and had conversations about supporting horrors, podcasts and a YouTube series.
I love reality TV. I’m fascinated by the creator economy. I see a huge potential to bring impact production to popular formats where it hasn’t traditionally been considered, or valued. I’m looking forward to making progress in doing that over the next year, fingers crossed!
Amanda Burrell, Executive Producer | Impact Producer | Environmental Broadcaster
With the environmental emergency intensifying, I remain deeply committed to using my role in the media to amplify stories that have the potential to drive meaningful change. I am looking to collaborate with others who share this ambition.
I plan to continue creating work that leaves viewers feeling empowered to act on the climate and nature crisis, while designing accompanying impact strategies to turn that sense of agency into measurable outcomes and help create the conditions for systemic transformation.
Jelena Krivosic, PhD Researcher / Impact Producer
Over the next year I will complete and publish my PhD research, sharing findings on broadcast, impact production and climate justice storytelling through presentations and workshops. Alongside this, I want to build on my Accelerator experience by taking on impact producing opportunities and developing campaigns that focus on connecting audiences with meaningful climate justice action.
Leonie Rousham, Impact Producer & Filmmaker, POWER STATION
Alongside another filmmaker, I’m launching my own production company this year, working across campaign video and impact production for NGOs, charities and social movements.
I’m also beginning a practice-based PhD focused on climate storytelling and action. I’m interested in the conditions under which a stories shift attitudes, norms and behaviours Arriving at the right moment, with a coalition already behind it, a film can be the last increment. Working on POWER STATION taught me that.
Josh Robertson, Conservation Storyteller and Impact Producer
Over the next year, I’ll be taking forward several ideas that emerged from my recent TRAFFIC trip across Southern Africa, including work around the timber trade, wildlife detection dogs and the trade in Aloe ferox.
One campaign I’m particularly excited about focuses on wildlife detection dogs and emerging technology being developed to strengthen efforts against wildlife trafficking in South Africa. Without giving too much away at this stage, I’m exploring how the story could become more than a standalone film, using tailored formats, strategic partnerships, media engagement, and targeted routes to audiences to support the wider conservation work taking place on the ground.
Alongside this, I’ll continue developing my own impact-production practice, working with filmmakers and conservation organisations to help turn powerful biodiversity and climate stories into practical campaigns, collaborations and real-world change.
Deborah Brewer, Impact Producer / Producer/Director of purpose-led content & events
I’m continuing to grow my freelance portfolio, supporting brilliant teams and campaigns, working to benefit people and planet. To help tell their stories and find pathways to grow their impact. I will be looking to take on new projects mid-October, so please do get in touch.
