BAFTA Albert has launched Putting Nature in the Picture to inspire the UK’s screen industry to play an important role in reconnecting audiences with nature, by harnessing the powerful and unique opportunities they hold in creating nature inclusive programming and content across genres.

BAFTA Albert publishes SPARK: Clean Temporary Power by 2030, the UK film and TV industry’s roadmap for a permanent shift to clean temporary power, accompanied by an industry Statement of Intent to accelerate sustainable screen production practises in energy use, co-signed by BBC, BBC Studios, BFI, Channel 4, Fremantle, ITV, ITV Studios, Netflix, Pact, Sky, UKTV and Universal International Studios. Developed through research and consultation with industry stakeholders and energy experts SPARK has been validated by independent experts from Imperial College London (via Imperial Consultants).

Download Press Release12 November 2025: BAFTA Albert Launches ACCELERATE 2025 - A landmark new report and path to net zero
BAFTA Albert has published ACCELERATE 2025, a landmark report and practical guide to sustainability for film and TV production. The report calls for an urgent reduction in flight travel, switching to electric vehicles and eliminating fossil fuel-powered generators on location and asks the industry to pull together to take collective responsibility for operating more sustainably, with culture change led from the top.

BAFTA Albert has announced that it has made a new appointment to its non-executive board of directors. Anna Lungley, currently the Head of Sustainability Consulting at Fujitsu, will take up her position on the 1st September 2025. The appointment comes after previous board member, Harriet Lamb, stepped down from her role to take up a new position as CEO of the Green Party.

Today BAFTA Albert, the leading authority on environmental sustainability in the screen industries launched a new suppliers directory.
The directory is designed to support the rapid decarbonisation our industry needs by bringing together production teams and broadcasters with suppliers. Each supplier is independently vetted, against industry sustainability backed criteria.

BAFTA Albert, the leading authority on environmental sustainability in the screen industries, has appointed a new board of Non-Executive Directors.
The role of the board will be to advise on strategic direction, and to support BAFTA Albert’s work to reduce the environmental impact of production in the film and TV industries, and create content that promotes a vision for a sustainable future.
