BAFTA Albert at London Climate Action Week 2026

It’s a busy week for the BAFTA Albert team as we join partners and organisations for London Climate Action Week – one of the world’s largest independent climate festivals.

Every year, London Climate Action Week brings together people and organisations from across sectors to share ideas, showcase innovation and accelerate action on climate. It’s an opportunity to celebrate progress, learn from one another and explore how collaboration can help drive meaningful change.

For us, it’s also a chance to continue conversations with the screen industry about the role film and television can play – not only through more sustainable production, but through the stories we tell and the impact they can have on audiences.

A proud moment for BAFTA Albert

We’re delighted that BAFTA Albert has been shortlisted in this year’s UK Green Business Awards for both Company of the Year and Sustainability Report of the Year for ACCELERATE 2025. Being recognised alongside organisations driving sustainability across so many different industries is something we’re incredibly proud of.

The nomination for Company of the Year feels especially meaningful as we prepare to celebrate BAFTA Albert’s fifteenth anniversary. It’s been a year of significant progress, from the continued growth of our Climate Content work and the launch of SPARK, to preparing for the launch of the Next Generation BAFTA Albert Toolkit later this year.

None of that would be possible without the broadcasters, studios, production companies, suppliers, partners and freelancers who continue to work with us to make sustainability part of everyday production.

Just as importantly, the nomination for Sustainability Report of the Year recognises ACCELERATE 2025 – a report that was built through genuine collaboration across the screen industry.

Published last November, the report captured not only the progress being made, but also the shared ambition to keep moving forward together. It reflects the expertise and commitment of thousands of people working across film and television and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed.

Join us throughout the week

We’ll be taking part in several events during London Climate Action Week and would love to see you there.

Putting Nature in the Picture: Bold Stories About Our Biggest Ally

Presented by BAFTA Albert and Luma, this session explores the role storytelling can play in helping audiences connect with nature and the world around them.

Sustainable Filmmaking – Science Fiction or Science Fact?

Our Head of Operations and Programme Delivery, Siobhan Pridgeon, will be joining Get Set Hire’s panel to discuss the practical realities of sustainable filmmaking and how the industry can continue to innovate while reducing its environmental impact.

Alongside these events, the BAFTA Albert team will be out and about throughout the week, sharing ideas and continuing conversations about how we can work together to build a more sustainable future for the screen industries.

See you at London Climate Action Week!
